How to select oil and filter book

I clicked on the link above and i was wondering if this book is a gimmic or not? Has anyone read this book and what do you think of it? Thanks.

Yep I have it and read it from time to time. Very informative stuff and good for the novice oil learner. It's even good for those with advanced knowledge talking about the niddy griddy of oil specs and measurements,,,,AR

I read it, but if your really just wanting to learn the best oil and stuff u can get it at this site. but if you want to get into the intricate details about velocity and crazy stuff like that, then get it

I have the book. Got it about the time I discovered this site. I have read the book several times and keep it for a reference. If you go through all the back issues of Machinery Lubrication (Noria site), maybe some of the articles in Practicing Oil Analysis (Noria site), and other articles on the Noria site you will get most of the stuff that is in the book, but the book nicely combines it all in one place.
