For example, when I get a text or email, the content of the text or email shows up on my screen but it only stays on for a few seconds. If i am driving, I cannot always immediately look at the screen to read the text.
Any way to get the notifications to stay on for a minute or two or even five minutes?

Not an Iphone guy but you might be able to make the app notifications persistent through a setting.

Google gave me this answer but not sure if it is correct..
"
  • Open Settings on your iPhone.
  • Tap Notifications.
  • Scroll down and tap on the specific app you want to change.
  • Under the "Alerts" section, tap Banner Style.
  • Select Persistent."
I googled for cx-5 hybrid the other day and it was stating it has 2.19hp engine 🤣 😂
based on some youtube channel.

So maybe look and see if that is a setting you can change.

I have BANNER STYLE PERSISTENT on my phone but it does not make the notifications stay on

Screen times out. To read the notifications after the screen times out, I have to turn the phone on and then swipe down to display the notifications.
This is related to turning the phone on. I have no security features enabled related to turning on my phone (my phone and I are never separated). I turn it on by pressing the power button and then swiping up. If no swipe, the screen times out in exactly the same way as when I receive a notification.

I too find this unnecessarily annoying on my phone. They should be made accessible by swiping the main screen to the right or have an app to open at the very least.
