2010 - 2011 Honda CR-V. Normal drain still leaves about .5 gal in the engine block, don't know of an external drain port on these?
Anyone ever deal with these?

I am not aware of any external drain port.
Is this the first drain & refill for this 14-15 year old CR-V?
Refill with the proper 50/50 coolant and call it a day.

Not sure that there’s a way to remove it, and I wouldn’t really bother unless you suspect contamination.

Honda expects that amount of coolant to remain after a coolant change. Below is a picture from the factory service manual for my 2006 Accord with K24.

Same goes for engine oil on my Accord, btw. 4.4qt at oil change vs 5.6qt after engine overhaul.

Edit: apparently there is a way to drain the remainder from a bolt in the block. But, as I mentioned, unless contamination is expected, it is not necessary.

for me I would not remove the block bolt....It could break and then you have big issues to deal with...Just drain and fill is all I do...

Typically, Hondas have a vent bolt at the top of the engine that can be removed to purge the air out as you’re filling the radiator. But I don’t know that they have a drain in the block. But they might have!
