On The newer 911the entire rear bumper has to come off to get to the air filter. Don't get me started on the sparkplugs.

I think we charge 2 hrs on them. $500 some dollar air filter change, I always laugh

German cars are famous for stuff like this. I think it’s their way of getting back at us for the war.

An Audi steering rack I did a few years ago comes to mind where they installed one completely unnecessary FU bolt from the bottom that required pulling the transmission to get to. Wasted several hours with every possible combination of extensions and swivels before I gave up and pulled the trans. It’s definitely done on purpose that bolt served zero purpose. It was only put there to piss off the person who had to replace the rack.

You can't service much without putting it into the "service position", which is a couple of hours of labor if you aren't handy.
