I've been keeping my aunts 2013 and 2004 VW Beetle TDI's clean and waxed lately. I have lots of new microfiber towels and some Meguiars Ultimate Quick Wax. What's a good way to apply it? I usually just rub it on with the towels and use another to kind of buff it. I don't have the patience for all of the fancy cleaners and polishes and clay bars and buffers unless it's quick and easy. What do you guys think? How should I apply this spray wax? Every time it's washed or every other time? Also, dust collects quickly on the black roof of the red Beetle. How do I stop this if possible? Also the pictures aren't after me waxing them.

I have found that Meg UQW can streak if you apply too heavily. Spray 2-3 sprays per panel and spread with a MF, then use a different short-nap MF towel and immediately re-wipe the panel.

The dirt issue can be addressed -- some of the newest nanotech sealants and coatings are extremely good at repelling dust and dirt. I have some pictures and a comparison in the Sonax thread.

Since you enjoy saving time, you may want to consider using CarPro Hydr02 once your Meg UQW is exhausted. Hydr02 is diluted 1:3, and you use about 50ml per car. After you are done washing, you mist the diluted product onto each panel while the car is wet, and then you hose off the panel. It leaves the panel very slick and protected for about 3 months.

Wash the car
Clay bar it ( Griot's Garage Yellow clay is one of the most economical )
Use a spray sealant like Blackfire Crystal Seal
Top it off with Collinite 845 wax( you can use it as a spray, google for instructions )
Use Optimum No Rinse Wash and Wax (you can use this as clay bar lubricant as well, one of the cheapest around if you buy the 1 gal jug ) in between to maintain as a quick detailer.

Some car wash solutions can strip the wax off and you would need to reapply often. A spray on paint sealant would last longer if you are in Arizona where the sun is brutal.

Some of the other products that require more work will give better protection. There is nothing easy about auto detailing from my experience.

I use it each time I wash which is once or twice a month. It is so easy; I figure why not. Spray, wipe, flip the MF, wipe again, done.

I have used the Ultimate Quick Wax and the Ultimate Wash and Wax on our trucks since new. It works pretty well, is readily available, and after three years I still have no noticeable swirls so I assume it fills well enough. I clay bar once a year and that has a tremendous effect on the longevity of the sealant.
