The 4s was truly a work of art of its time. Glass design with surgical stainless band that wrapped the edges. It just did everything right it’s shame apple doesn’t believe there is still people that want a device like the 4sI loved my iPhone 4 it was my favorite so far with the glass design. I usually go 3 to 4 years. My last 4 have been iPhone 4,iPhone 5c, iPhone 7 and not the latest 12 pro.
I honestly wait till new "new" generation of phone gets released then buy the now "last" generation at a great discount.
then keep it till I feel like I want something better, so every 4ish years.
Got a really bad taste (pun intended) when apple did the whole "we slow down your phones after 6 months so you buy a new one" as well as "we will purposely FORCE you to use OUR parts and OUR repair facilities or else we BRICK your phone entirely if you even DARE to try to fix YOUR phone that YOU bought)
Andriod for lyfe!
Assuming there are no coverage issues, the same amount of $ will get me 4 gb of data instead of 1...which is not a big deal to me at least not now. Good to know for the future if my needs should change. 5G not an issue for me as the A50 isn't capable and I won't need it as long as 4GLTE is good to go. Don't know enough about TMo in my area to know if it's desirable, but VZW is and I'm okay with that.Check out Mint Mobile which uses T-Mobile's network.
Any high end flagship phone is hard to change the battery on. Even then, out of warranty, Apple only charges $50-$70 to replace the battery and only takes an hour or 2. iPhones also still have a port. If you wanted to change the battery yourself, iFixit has guides that anyone can follow for free, it’s really not that complicated. The way Apple screws it's customers, I'll never buy a new Apple anything. All my Ipods were used. The fact you cannot replace the battery easily is so aggravating. Now on new Apples they've removed the ports, or so I'm told.
I absolutely detest tech companies (and car companies) who purposefully make life hard for customers.
I also keep a phone until it doesn't work any more. All I use a cell phone for is making and receiving calls, so features such as cameras and data and "apps" are of no interest to me. (My preference is for a simple flip phone.) Really, I do not at all understand the hordes of people who say "my entire life is on my phone", makes no sense to me at all. I don't even leave mine on most of the time.I get a new phone when the one I have quits working. Unless someone gives me one free with no strings attached.
Yes get a good tool kit and you will save hundreds. Its not hard you just have to be gentle.Any high end flagship phone is hard to change the battery on.
