How often do you wash your car?

Once a week or every two weeks. Maybe more or less depending on the type of weather and exposure.

I thought my habit was a bit of an overkill, but it's nothing compared to one of my buddies. He washes his car once every three weeks but does a quick detail every morning with one of those quick detail spray.

The less you touch it, the better.

So unless there are bird droppings, once every other month. And it gets a claybar/polish/seal at the same time.

Believe it or not I only washed our cars twice in the past 7 months. I only cleaned them with California duster followed by (any) quick detailer every other day.

I just did my own 4-step version paint detailing process last week:
step 1) California duster w/ Meguiars regular detailer, 2) clay bar, 3) paint cleaner, 4) NXT wax.

On average, once every 2 years. I've had the car 8 years and washed it maybe 4 times. It doesn't look good clean, you can see where the police decals were.

The wife's '08 Corolla gets washed when it's dirty. Usually once a month in the summer. Same for my Mercury Marquis.

We have a '10 Mustang GT convertible that get's a light detail every time it leaves the garage.

Most times they go to the local car wash to knock off the big stuff and come home to get a hand wash afterwards.

Not very often, in the winter, if you wash your car, you are garenteed it will snow the next day and will look the same as you did before you washed it. I just do it when I get time, maybe once every couple of months. I have it undercoated from Krown, so, its not so bad for it.

+1 In the winter, at least. Especially the underside.

Same here...Between the morning dew [every morning] and the constant sprinkles of rain the car does not stay clean for more then 24 hours down here in the jungle....I generally wax every 4 months.

Cars over 7 years old generally need a paint job down here due to the constant blazing sun all year round...I notice Black cars [even high end cars] need new paint the most after 7 years...Even it is waxed several times a year..The hood, top and trunk go first.

Way more often in the winter than in the summer. As long as the temp is above 20F, I'll go to the quarter car wash and spray off the salt, concentrating religiously on the undercarriage. Then I have a heated garage for the car to dry in when I get home. Depending on conditions, every 2 or 3 days. I have a real phobia about salt living in MI.

All the time. Especially in the winter, I like to use touchless car washes with underbody spraying. I need to get all the salt out from underneath the car. I drive a lot so it gets dirty constantly. In the summer I hand wash a couple times a week unless its pure sun (rain gets the car dirty! - water spots)

+1 about the salt in MI. Live on a gravel road so I can have a combo of salt, sand and road clay building up. The 07 Liberty gets run though a touch free car wash with an undercarriage spray at least once per week. The 01 Spt Trac has some rust plus 165K on it. I normally purchase a $3 car wash when I fill up at the local Shell. Does not do a bad job and I run it through an under carriage wash once every 2 weeks. Summer washes........................as needed.

Only when it's dirty.

There are times I'll go for 3-4 months without washing any of the vehicles. My pickup has only been washed once since I bought it in April.

In the winter I wash as often as it's warm enough to convince the stations to open their bays. Some basically close their machines November-March but if you poke around others will turn them on as long as it's in the 20s.

Depends on the car. My 06 Mustang GT gets washed a couple times a week because its my daily driver and I'm proud of it. My wife's 09 Acadia only gets washed when it is dirty, which isn't too often because its our trip car and sits in the garage a lot. My wife's 01 Escape gets driven daily because she still likes to drive it around town instead of her new car. I washed it today for the first time in quite a while. With a beater car it just doesn't seem to be important.

8-10 times a year. It has at least 2 coats of wax on at all times and is garaged at all times.

I haven't washed the Buick in over a year. Been too busy. And I don't want to spray away my wool-wax undercoating.

We wash the Fit every month or two in better weather.

Both cars will get very thoroughly washed this spring once the salt is cleaned off the roads.
