I have never had any thousand dollar repairs. In fact, none of my trucks has ever had a major component fail or broken down.

A police officer pulled into the parking lot, and he asked me if there was something wrong. At first I was thinking why is a cop coming up to me. I didn't do anything. It was funny at the time.

I'm a sales manager and my car is my office. my territory is half west side of qc province. My car first starts at 6 a.m, run all day and stops at 6 p.m. Between that, 10 stops a day for approx. 15-30 minutes.

Twice a month, with additional checks before I take any long car trips. I usually get under the car and look things over once between oil changes too.
I check my winter beater 89 Caprice with 310k miles about once a week. I probably average about 600 miles a week on it and right now it's using some oil for some reason so I'm trying to sort that out with some short OCI's with Seafoam and MMO added. Also going to change the valve seals.
In the summer months when I was driving my 84 Cutlass (until my license sticker expired and didn't want to pay for another 2 months of driving) I was checking every couple weeks. It has a junkyard mid 70's 350 Olds engine and doesn't need oil added between my 3k oil changes so I don't check as often as I should sometimes.

I have only been on the road for less than 10 years and I can't imagine going back to an office either... I love my job as crazy, busy and stressful it can be.

I look under the hood once a week or crawl under the vehicle once a month.
man it varies. Sometimes twice a week sometimes i go 2 months between hood up looks. When i was hauling cross country i could be 3 times a day.
Everytime I wash our cars which is 2-3x a month.
