How much oil in your stash?

Short answer: currently 24 quarts.

The Corvette and Tacoma both call for 5w30 and have 5 quarts M1, 10 quarts M1EP and a random 5 quarts of M1 10w30 (will use that in the Corvette, it runs hot by design). The bikes run 10w40 and have 1 gallon of Rotella T6 for those.

The most I've ever had stashed at one time was 30 quarts (6 x 5qt jugs).

The last time that I counted was just around 300 quarts (mostly purchased on clearance over the years). That was a couple of oil changes ago and I know that two 5Q jugs of clearance Pennzoil 0W40 synthetic ended up in my buggy at Wal-Mart 2-3 weeks ago.

I caved.

With one oil change left in the shed for the Captiva (5L of Helix AG C3 Dexos 2, and a little Nulon 25W60 to make up the fill), I was going to sit.

Supercheap Auto had 30% off Magnatec for club members, so that brought a 10L barrel of Magnatec DX down to $72.

It's SN, C3, DEXOS2...can use it in anything...so I bought it.

And might go back tomorrow...

Today I found enough for three years (two vehicles that see 12-14K annually. So that's enough oil for six more oil changes each.

I want to lower that stash to 1-/2 years worth. Keep two years supply of oil filters.
