How much has the PF1218 changed over the years?

I got a case of PF1218's off ebay for a steal of deal. I believe they are old stock 10+ years old. Shortly after, I noticed the ones on the shelf at the part store are significantly smaller. Im guessing they just changed suppliers or whatever but the thing is like an inch shorter its a little worrying. What do you guys think? Even the gasket diameter is slightly different. Probably a 75% overlap though.

PF1218's used to be as big as PF35's. The PF1218 was a replacement for the PF35. The PF1218 had an anti-drainback valve, and the PF35 didn't.

I had specifically used the PF 1218 for that reason on my 292 L6 with a horizontally mounted filter. The PF 25 and PF 35 would empty out when it sat.
I have no idea what that new version is.

Fran had the ph13 then it became the ph5. The ph30 was the shorter filter. Ph373 was a 2 qt one.

So the big old PF1218's i got are kind of the ideal filter for my 7.4 Vortec?
