How much differentiation is there within base oils of the same group?

Back to the original question - EHC is a Grp2 designed to hit Dexos type and HDEO targets with less Grp3 needed …
Hence some call it Grp2+ without that being a thing …

So is this somewhat like GTL? Or am I wrong. Thank You sir

Very good info sir. Do you foresee oil companies using more re refined base oils in the future or more of this being used for other industries as asphalt and hydraulic oils?

Thank You

Depends on the price of natural gas and diesel fuel.

Re-refineries can be tilted to make VGO (vacuum gas oils) that can be used as a feed stock for diesel fuel or other distillates. Or they can be tilted to make more bunker fuels for various usage. Moving away from base oil production.

Right now the percentage of re-refined on the market is going down. Because NG was high for a while, diesel fuel is still high. And there is a glut of Group II’s on the market right now.

Going forward, re-refining could tilt back to making base oils again.

No. You can see us elude to that by saying like group II or group III but with + or ++, +++ in how we interpret it to be.

It's beginning to sound like SOPUS wants Natural Gas base listed on their Pennzoil Platinum jugs-only. But Mobil-1 and Quaker State are forbidden from mentioning it on the front of their jugs.

I guess that's a shifty - legal way to say Motor Oil Politics does exist.
