How many of you think about pollution?

Another thought, this is kind of a mental image I came up with. Imagine holding the earth at arms length, it's a globe 7 inches in diameter. How thick is the atmosphere? The breathable atmosphere is a layer only .002 inches (2 thousandths) of an inch thick. That's about as thick as a sheet of paper. Above that, the atmosphere just thins out rapidly to nothing.

I don't think about pollution on any grand scale. Nothing I can do about it anyway. Why let it bug you? I try and do what I believe is right FOR ME when it concerns pollution stuff. I don't believe in the green movement yet I am not a polluter of any real consequence. Moderation, personal reflection, truth, and balance are far more important to me.

The only time I think about is when I get a smelly diesel truck in front of me or along side me in gridlock traffic [happens often down here] where I can't get away from it and all the fumes come inside the car from the a/c before I can change the setting to max.

Mostly I think about pollution anytime I have to breath car or truck exhaust, but especially when there is an oil burning beater in front of me on the road.

I think it's overblown to some degree. I do tend to believe that you should "pay as you go" on such matters that will have to be dealt with eventually.

This image caused me to rethink the overblown thingie:

That's the sort of thing that I noticed on our trip Gary.

Here, even though we are near power stations, we can literally see for miles. NY, you couldn't. Not much different than descending into the Sydney basin of a morning 'though.

Ca and Reno you could 'though.

The fuel is free, the technology is "cheap" and proven. We have lots of land and sun in the south west USA.

We have a big one just over the hill. It would never have happened without tax credits, subsidies, and long term price contracts. Many states are mandating these types of things...regardless of cost.
Feeding from sloptrough of the taxpayer.
