Cruising is in my blood, since HS and I first got my license cruising was the thing to do "See and be seen" nowdays around here nobody cruises anymore, on Fri and Sat nights we'll go out to check out the scene and find it DEAD! I still cruise and find it relaxing wife really likes to go on trips to get out of the house and she only has to ask once and we are gone

I do all the time. As a matter of fact, I'm planning to drive the CA and AZ sections on old Route 66 in my '61 Bug just for fun.

I ride my Stella(Vespa PX150) scooter almost every weekend exploring Las Vegas.

Don't get to do it as much as I used to. I did it a lot in the first few years that I lived in my current city, just to familiarize myself. I'll still take the "long way" every now and then when we actually have the time. But now, with 3 kids who have swimming, soccer, gymnastics, and more homework in elementary school than I had in high school, cruising time is limited to non-existent.

Yea, I still do it...although my "cruisin'" nowadays usually has a set destination and a purpose. But if time permits, I will usually choose longer, scenic routes and organize my music beforehand.

Like most others here, I/we enjoy driving and we make some trips that are not efficient and justified. Most, nearly all trips now are at least tied to some purpose (Dairy Queen?).

As a child, our family went on Sunday drives and the drive itself was a form of recreation, only tied to seeing the countryside scenery.....no other "purpose" was involved. I suppose this form of cruising is less popular now due to many reasons...economics, environment, whatever.

It seems that most cars accumulate a lot more miles now a days compared to in the past. People drive more without the recreational cruises.

+1
There is a Diner 50 miles away and we go there at least twice a week...I also go down to Key West [about 4 hours each way] as often as I can...I usually drive from Miami to New York once a year or more...I also like working far away...I would rather drive 60 miles each way to work then 5 miles each way...I am more relaxed when I come home after a long drive.

All the time , I have 3 4x4's 2 atv's a dirt bike and a streetbike , I'm always burning fuel. I had a friend that make custom t shirts make me one the says My carbon footprint is bigger than yours. I live in Austin Tx , love all the dirty looks the liberals give me.

Love it!

I do... Put 100 miles on the car about a month ago when I got lost. I enjoy just driving for the [censored] of it. I shouldn't though, till I can afford the gas..

Not worth the aggravation. My arm gets too tired from reaching back and slapping children.

Driving will never, ever be a form of recreation for me. Too much stress. Even out in the middle of nowhere, I have to stay at least somewhat focused on the road so I don't drive off a cliff. I can never get into the "wheeeee!" mindset. Apparently it's just me.

I don't like driving in cities during broad daylight. But a Rural area like I am in or a city during the early early morning hours I like it. Its not all useless for me, either, as it helps to get a lay of the land espically if Im in a new area. Get to know shortcuts, back roads, alternate routes.

I did it a lot when I lived in Denver. On Sunday mornings, I'd cruise out to breakfast, then drive to a new area of the metroplex, or head out onto the plains, or best of all, up into the mountains to Idaho Springs or Evergreen or Breckenridge. Delightful.

Now, living in The Swamp, I don't do it much. Driving here is like being nibbled to death by ducks; the nasty, scarred, chipped road surfaces make the car jitter and make me curse too much. There aren't enough smooth roads to make it worth while unless the weather is extremely good -- and that's rarer than the smooth roads. Plus, having lived here nearly all my life and having worked as a delivery courier, I've already seen nearly every area of this town that's still safe to go into.

If a miracle happens and I get to move somewhere new, unless gas hits $4/gallon again, I'll be out there, cruising to see what there is to see.

Used to do it more in the GN, not as much in the TL but probably more often than many. I'm fairly close to LA, the coast, and Vegas. Sometimes it's spur of the moment. Sometimes I'll just drive somewhere I've never been. I get more pleasure in the older car, some of it's "shortcomings" make me feel more connected to the road and the outside. There's a time when the windnoise, roadnoise, no GPS or navi, are very welcome. The city has gotten pretty crowed, people are always in a hurry to get anywhere and you're making people mad if you're not taking off at 3/4 thorttle. Driving locally adds more stress but once out of town it's fun.

Of course, I'm doing my part for the environment with no convertors, leaded race gas, and methanol.

Me and my Corvette friends do it all the time! In fact in the summer time there are people cruising somewhere on almost every day of the week that it isn't raining! (and sometimes even when it's raining too!)

When I was laid off for six months this year I did a lot of cruising during the day all by myself. My daily ritual for a while was to take a 50 mile drive which included a trip through the Forks of the Credit (it's a 4 mile stretch of road that's like a mini Tail of the Dragon, it's very fun!) Going for a drive on a nice sunny day has always been one of my all time favorite things to do. That's one of the reasons I hate winter so much.
