I ordered before the "deadline" to get one final subsidized phone with unlimited data. Even then, the people in the store, and then people on phone support (the original order was cancelled for some reason no one could ever explain) were trying to tell me the new plans were an option and that I didn't use much data. I just reminded them my current phone was obsolete and therefore I really have no clue how much data I'll use with a new one.
From what I read, after 6/28 they would cease to allow you to carry over the unlimited to a new subsidized phone on contract. Last I knew, if you wanted to keep unlimited now, you'd have to pay full price for a phone. I have read on the Android forums though that people have somehow kept unlimited. I think part of it had to do with some programming someone missed on their website that allowed people to still choose unlimited when checking out.
If they are letting people slide now, I think they would probably end that once the iPhone 5 comes out. My theory was the whole point of announcing these plans in the summer and ending "grandfathering" is really to snag all the iPhone users waiting for the new release at the end of the summer.
