How late into the season do you guys mow?

I don't bag the last clippings of the season, something I've been doing for years.


I put my mower away last week, it changed places in the garage with the snow blower. The landscapers will cut grass into February around here if you don't tell them to stop. LOL

Just got done mowing and raking the yard...hopefully the last time. Been working late so haven't had time to do so until today...storm on the way. Plus wanted to burn up the gas in the mower. I guess if it wasn't for the weather it wouldn't have gotten done until spring but I wanted to get up as many leaves as possible because they will smother the grass and promote weeds.

i mowed up some left over leaves this afternoon. total time mowing was just over an hour. It was 18 degrees out when I started

Just did the last mowing for leaves here. I removed less than one bag of leaves. We have 3 Bradford Pear trees, 3 Corkscrew Willows (all 25-30' tall), and a couple little things that don't count.

I had a high lift mulching blade on the mower, and put the oversized side discharge chute on it. I kept the chute pointing to the middle, and a quick pass then slower pass. When done, I had less than one bag from the whole yard (which I dumped in the garden).

Even thought I didn't remove much it looks nicely raked, because what was left behind was ground up pretty small.

I mowed yesterday. Probably done for the year and will start back late Feb. or early March. My yard seems to be on the NASCAR time schedule.

Well,boys, that's about it for this season. 15 bags of neighborhood Red Oak leaves raked off my yard,out of the street gutters,and vacumed off my yard with my Hi lift Honda blade. Gotta say it's looks stunning. Used all my 2 stroke mowing tools and ran all the gas out. Refilled gas tanks to the top with fresh 2 stroke gas/oil mix. Fresh A/F,gas, and oil change,in my Honda Lawnmower. Love changing the oil with my Pela 650. Oughtta hold me for about 3 months. Cheers!
