How is Your Fuel Stash?

This afternoon I dispensed the last of my pre-war 87 octane E10 into one of the cars. They are all more or less full now but my stash has been reduced to five gallons of 90 octane E0. If used judicially I could make it three weeks.

So how about you? What's in your stash?

I have two of those red five gallon plastic jugs generally used to take advantage of fuel rewards and another two metal 20 liter Jerry Jugs for E0. The plastic jugs are empty because I couldn't take advantage of the typical 20 gallons at a $1.20/gal discount and I guess that I've just been a slacker on the empty Jerry Jug. The one that is full was purchased at $3.609/gal. just before hostilities.

Topped off my other vehicles last weekend then took the Jerry cans to Costco for a $2.73 refill. Still have those. Dumb to use them now when prices could still rise.
 
I have tapped into my reserves from the ice storm of 6 weeks ago that never happened. I’ll drain the generator soon, then fill up the lawn equipment so I probably won’t need to buy gas for the next couple of week$ .
 
I have 20 gallons of Get Go's finest RUG in my shed ready to go as needed.
I have $2.80 of fuel perks ready to cash in, but wanted to deplete the backlog before replenishing.
 
I don't have a fuel stash but I do have 3/4 of a tank in my fuel sipper and a stash of rewards points for $1 off per gallon. I can stretch a tankful for a looong time.
 
87 ethanol regular is almost $7.00 CAD per U.S gallon here.
I never exceed two tanks per month in any of the cars so it is what it is.
I do feel bad for people with 2hr roundtrip commutes though.
I hoard oil but I've never stored gasoline for use at a later date ever.
 
I used to set aside a couple 5 gallon jerry cans of fuel when hurricanes were approaching.

But the truth is that you can’t “stash” fuel very well.

I can set aside enough oil for several years of use on just one shelf for my garage.

But even half a dozen Jerry cans doesn’t quite fill up the pick up truck, so it’s good for what, a week?

I will fill up each vehicle when inclement weather is forecast, but that’s about it
 
I keep 10 gallons of gasoline and refresh at the start of hurricane season - that’s only to get a hotel or BnB far enough north. I keep 4 bottles of propane for gen’s …
On a good grid - so takes physical damage to be knocked out …

That's the trade off...and it's dictated by location. I envy the rural lifestyle but would miss the city.
I simply don't have the space to store fuel or mowers, nor do I need them, but I would be totally happy in that environment.
