The only other suggestion was "long press on it and choose edit" which you already tried and found there is no such option on your phone, since it's not the same one the other poster had.
The extension of this is I guess "Replace phone with a OnePlus 7T" which technically doesn't require a download.
I just went to google's Linux kernel from Microsoft windows phone and I am leaning the ins and outs on a basic samsung device.
I was mainly concerned about file management and ability to clear cache and junk in storage,
Then ability to shut off all the unnecessary permissions that jam up even octa-core high speed processors and big memory.
I agree that wouldn't really want to download anything either. But, Just shut off permissions or delete the download after you accomplish what you want.
