How do you mix your fuel additives?

I have always poured the dry gas and cleaners in the gas tank before refueling thinking that as gasloine enters the tank that it will start to mix. After adding MMO a couple times the same way, my engine feels as if it's getting mostly MMO and that MMO has mix very little with gasoline. I suspect that gasoline is lighter than MMO and dry gas/cleaners are lighter than gasoline.

How do you add your gasoline additives to get the best blending with gasoline: before or after refueling?

There is such a flow rate, and such a small dose that I doubt that it doesn't mix. All this stuff is miscible.

I put everthing in before fueling, I dont want those chemicals sitting on the fill line, possibly dissolving or harming the lines. Id rather have them diluted properly.

With TC-W3 I use a measuring cup to pour the exact amount into a small water bottle (600 ml), which I reuse. At the gas station, I pump a bit of gas into the bottle, to mix with the TC-W3, and dump it in the tank. I do this twice, then fill up.

I put my snake oils in first, then fill her up. Sometimes up to 5 miles later.
There is a lot of sloshing around while driving in addition to the agitation of actually filling the tank.
It is what it is - I am not worried about incomplete mixing at all.

To me, it makes more sense to put your goodies into the tank first, then pump the gas in to mix it up. Also, I have a small long-neck Lucas bottle that comes in handy for adding additives. It's clear plastic, so I've marked it off in ounce increments. The long-neck is easy to stick into my car's filler tube - never had any spills!

If I know or have a good idea how much gas it will take to fill up, and if I remembered to bring my MMO with me I will add what's needed at the pump first then fill up with gas. Otherwise I fill up with gas then add MMO at home according to the amount of gas I bought. I keep my gas receipts and write the mileage down at the pump so I can calculate my MPG when I get home. I only use about half the recommended MMO dose in the gas, 2 oz to each 10 gallons of gas, so I need to be accurate. I found that 4 oz to 10 gallons was way too much and brought down my MPG. Rich Kelly over on the MMO forum says the action of driving does a good job of mixing the MMO and gas in the tank when MMO is added after filling up, but either way will work fine.

If I am adding Regane to the tank, of course I try to run the tank down to a little less than 1/4 full, add the entire Regane bottle at the pump and then fill 'er up.

Shaken, not stirred!

Really, it seems to make no difference as long as I do it at night, before I go to bed. Couple of hours in the tank and it's a wash once I drive a few miles.

Adding the Regane at a quarter tank or half tank won't make any difference at all. Once you start pumping it gets mixed in. The key with Regane is to run the tank down to below 1/4 tank to get the most cleaning from the product.

Once that gas nozzle starts pumping trust me whatever is in the tank gets mixed, and if it doesn't leaving the gas station going down the apron to the street ,and the first few stops mixes it in.

I take a swig of mmo and squirt a swig of gas in my mouth swish it around and spit it in the gas tank. Get lots of weird looks for some reason.

I prefer to add at the station, before adding fuel.

However, now it's pay at the pump, and the pump is a mile from home, I add when I get home, and know the doseage accurately (and have hand washing facilities).

On the road, and I'll add before filling, as the tank is near empty.

+1 The instructions on the Regane Complete bottle say "add to a nearly empty gas tank", then fill. That is what I do at the gas station, and then run it till the tank is nearly empty the next time. Might not make much difference but I figure following the manufacturers instructions is the way to go. I do the same for Techron.

If I used another product my preference would be to follow a similar procedure.
