I just bought a car that was used by the security staff of an HOA and it has big stickers on both doors. What’s the best way to remove them? I’m thinking a heat gun would be the first option. The paint is horrible so it doesn’t really matter if it gets damaged in the process.

Assuming it vinyl - a gentle heat gun and a non marring soft plastic squeegee and lots of patience. Goo gone after to get the sticky off.
This is key...I would start with a hair dryer on high which won't damage the paint. A true heat gun is designed to blister paint so it can be removed with a scraping tool, even on the low setting.

You might try the heat gun with a plastic razor. As for a chemical you can try Shaeffer Citrol. Just test it on the paint. Should be okay on factory paint for a bit. Just wash off after done.

I've had good luck with Goo Gone Automotive Spray Gel. Easily helped remove a bumper sticker that had been on for years.

Hair dryer and plastic scraper. Gasoline will clean the goop off the paint. Dawn dish soap will get the gas.

I've actually used metal razor blades with success, the gasoline lubricates them, seriously. Just keep things wet.

Taking off some window tint once they showed cut a black plastic garbage to that shape. Spray with some water to make it stick, smooth down lightly, face it in the sun. About 1/2 hour later it basically pulls off with all the glue. Probably should work the same for that.

I cringe at those eraser wheels and eraser sponges. I have only used one twice...both times they left a marred up mess to polish when I was done. It was not residue...it was damage to the surface.
Like I mentioned, takes some experience.
Also the wheels go bad with age.

They use ammoniated glass cleaner under the plastic to strip tint and its glue.

I've seen them use that, steam, and as listed. Depends on time and money you are willing to spend.

I peeled my rear tint as it was getting blurry. Tint shop cringed when I said I had done it myself and wanted new tint. He then looked at it and was like :D "really , you did this, there is no glue left at all?"
