How did you find your wife?

My fiancee is a nurse at the hopital I used to go to quite often. I was interested the first time I saw her, but relized she had diamond on her finger, so I never bothered looking again. Then, about 6 years later, after a pretty rocky relationship, my supervisor approached me and said he knew somebody who I might be interested in. I really wasn't interested at the time due to the nasty relationship I had just gotten out of. Then about 6 months later, he came to me and said "she's single again". After I figured out who he was talking about, I was all for it. About a week later I finally got me nerve up and asked her out. We did the double date thing one night with my supervisor and his wife and the rest is history. About 4 years later I asked her to marry me. Now we have been together for 5 years and the wedding will be in September

I admitted to her that I had always been interested but I thought she was engaged. Come to find out she was, but the idiot left her a few months before the wedding. His loss is my gain. I guess she was always kinda interested in me to, but thought that I wouldn't want anything to do with her. To think that we could've been together six years sooner if I would've looked at that left ring finger one more time.

Met mine online. Used a dating service where you could post your profile for free, and could see others' profiles, but had to pay to contact others. But, there was a free 72 hour window. I blasted out emails in those 72 hours and she wrote back. Never paid a cent for the service.

Since she admitted to being a Red sox fan, and I had an involvement in their television broadcasting through work, we had something to talk about.

When we met for a breakfast date, she was bragging that she had just changed her oil for the first time the night before, albeit with her brother's help. And that's something, that at that time, I hadn't yet done. But if a girl could do it...

I did my oil for the first time at her dad's place a month later. I gave her one drive-on ramp as a present, so if we broke up, the ramps would be useless to either of us.

Honest, true story! She used a Fram but I talked her out of that rather quickly. No BITOG at the time but there was that minimopar filter study.

Now don't laugh but we "met" on the Yahoo Personals. In fact I met a lot of women on Yahoo. Had a great time dating but it was killing me physically
grin.gif
. Being in my mid 40's at that time and being self employed I didn't have a lot of time to hang in bars. I tried some of the those organized "get togethers" but nothing panned out. The Yahoo Personals are actually pretty good. You can tell a lot about a person by what they write and the manner and way they write. What I found out is that many women in their 30's and 40's are either divorced with kids or wanting a sperm donor to have kids and support them. That was not what I wanted. I was divorced with no children and don't want any at my stage in life. Thank goodness my wife didn't want or have children. After e-mailing a lot and telephoning a bit we arranged a "public" meeting at a lakeside restaurant in late August. We were at the restaurant at 5pm when it opened and still there when it closed at about 1am. They wanted to go home and asked us to leave

. We spent more hours talking in the parking lot. She's a car/truck enthusiast and a wrench turner on her vehicles
smile.gif
. It was fate that we ended up marrying

. Now I'm doing LC and FP with extended drain intervals on her 2002 Explorer

Like a few of you at a bar ..a attractive blonde walks up to me and asks if I want to meet her friend ( I used to get this fairly often being a show off bodybuilder dressed in a tnk tp with a dark tan ...what can i say i stood out like a sore thumb) I asked who her friend was ..she pointed out a beautiful brunett I said yes and went over and had a ten minute talk with her .

As it was i didn't think that I made a very good impression so I endded the conversation off with telling her were I worked at as a bouncer on weekends ( spare change and women
smile.gif
) and left it at that ....little did I know she was yellinh inside COMEBACK PLEASE ...but it took her 3 months to come see me at my bouncing job..2 weeks later we had a date ...been 7years now married for 5 best woman I ever met! bar none !

Met my wife at a horse barn. After she told me that she took a jar of peanut butter under her car, so that she could determine which way to unscrew the oil filter, I knew she had to be mine!

My wife & I met at a "Crossroads." At least that was the name of the place.

She told one of my friends she thought I was cute; I think she just married me for my money.

I met my wife while attending College! My roomate went to trade school with here in H.S.! Let me tel you before he had our three boys she had a body!!! Six pack ab's, natural blonde, fair skin with peach's and cream complexion,muscular/Athletic but femine build!!!!She had that very young look. She looked to be a good 4 year longer then she was when we met!!!

It was almost love at first sight! So I guess my old roomate gets credit!!

I met my wife at church. We were both divorced for a few years. The first time I saw her I knew she was the one. I thought she didn't feel the same way though! A couple of times I felt like not bothering with her anymore. But finally we realized we liked and then loved each other. Only 4 years so far. She was the answer to a lot of prayers.

my story is actually automotive related.
my friend was dating my (future) wife's sister at the time. I went to go work on my friend's VW beetle at my (future) wife's parents house. In the process of changing the carburator, alternator, and those pesky intake boots I met my future wife... in payment for my labor I got a six pack of beer and her phone number...

Met wife at a Church watermelon supper. (No kidding!)
grin.gif

I was spitting watermelon seeds further than the other guys to try and impress this tall and beautiful Iowa blonde. She thought I was a dork and a pest,

but I persisted.

Later found out she was the daughter of a mechanic and helped her dad rebuild engines.

That's when I proposed.

Still locked into matrimony after 35 years.

During my last year at University of Miami, I got a part-time job washing dishes at a Pizza place called "The Big Cheese"..... she was a cashier, we dated for 9 months, married for 7 years.

Her parents thought she could do better than a dish washer. LOL

Quick, change the title to "spouse".

I never really thought about this before. This place is almost all guys. Kinda like an online mens club. It's kinda like being at work.

Maybe one of the mods can answer this question. How many female members are there at BITOG?

I apologize that I do not remember the names, but we have at least 9 members post that are females. We have one that has at least 80 posts, and some very recent.

My best friend and I were out at a dance club one night, and this girl kept staring at my friend all night. Eventually she came over to him and introduced herself, and she was there with her best friend too. We all starting hanging out and the rest is history. My friend only dated that girl for a few months, but I'm still with mine!
smile.gif
This was in Sept 1997, we got married in March 2000.

I think it was fate though, because my best friend had been dating the same girl for 11 years, then they got married in early 1997, but separated after just six months! During this break is when this happened. They were only separated for about a year, then got back together and now they've got two kids and are happier than ever! So if they had not broken up for that short time, I probably would not have met my wife.
