How did you find your wife?

I left out the key piece of information that she and I were still married when she met her still married boyfriend.

I guess I was too much for her, so she needed an older man. Married boyfriend is going to be 53 this year. I will turn 40 in 22 days

Well, I knew this chick in High School that had a hot body and I would pass her in the hallways all the time. She always had a smile on her face. I never took the time to stop and talk even though there seemed to be some mutual attraction. I graduated without ever talking to her. Bummer! She was one year younger.

A year later I was doing the thing with chickies and was getting fed up with the mind games. My mother could sense that girls were getting me aggravated and told me she had someone at her office she would like me to meet. I said, "sure, it will be another chick and more mind games, whatever"! One week later as I was headed to the local NICKEL BEER night (fake ID)my mother called me and told me to come by the office that she had someone for me to meet. I went right over and guess who it was? The fine chick from school! Swwweeeeeet thanks MAAA! So I gave her my number and told her to call me. Sure enough she called 2 days later. The rest is history!

We have been together now for 19 years and married for 12, woops 13.

We met in prison(we are correcetional officers

). She saw me. I was not interested at first but she kept after me bigtime. I would even tell her that I did not want to do anything and I was just going to stay around my house. Next thing I know I was over at her house playing with her daughter everyday. Figured I must kidna like her since I never seem to leave...

Been together 4 years and married 2. Adopted my now daughter shortly after the wedding. She's been my best friend since day one. Enough of these sappy threads!

We met in 1998 on Match.com back when they still had a free chat room. She was in CA, and I am in PA. After talking online and by phone for a couple months, she told me she wanted to visit extended family living nearby (her dad's family is in VA), I paid for her plane ticket and she flew out in Dec 1998. It was almost a year before she made it down to see any of her dad's family.

To top it off, she didn't even tell her parents where she was going (she was 18 and living with her parents at the time; btw I was 33!), and I started getting threating phone calls from her father until I convinced her to call him back and talk to him.

We now have a 4yr old son and have been married for 1yr.

hahahaahahahahahahahaha! that's amazing. you can think of all kinds of puns for that situation.

Back in 2000, I went for emotional support to a friend of mine when I found out that the girl I had a crush on for 3 years, but didn't like me (Let's call her J) just got a boyfriend. My heart was crushed.... and was about to cry a river and jump off a cliff.

After I cry a river to my friend, I left her apartment and at the moment her friend (my wife) walk in. I said hi but didn't introduce myself, she found me quite arrogant so that made a very bad impression on her. 2 months later, we ran into each other by chance in a church gathering (we were both non-believers, and were both dragged there by our friends). The rest is history.

She knew about my crush on that girl J, and was always insecure about it. But one month prior to our wedding, we went to a friend's wedding and sure enough, ran into J. After my wife found out who J was, how she looks like, etc. She was questioning my taste in women and why I would fall for someone like that......

She now feels insecure, but in a different way. She worries that she is as weird as my crush of 3 years.

First week of freshman orientation in college in California, I'm pouring a soda in the cafeteria and glace up at a pair of running shoes.....and running legs (and runner's shorts!)....and a big Texas smile.

Been together 9 years, married for 5 years, with a 20-month old daughter. Working on one more on the way!

Met mine at a truck stop in New Brunswick. She was the dishwasher girl

I was working maintenance to pay for school. Had a rocky few years, broke up, I moved to Ontario, went back to visit my parents, we met up, things were rekindled and I dragged her back here with me.

We now have three kids!

Online, on a forum not all too much unlike this one. Found out I'd be attending college near where she lived in a year, started to like eachother, started going out, a few years later she became my wife.

Flashback from 1998, I saw her at our gym when we were in college, (Holy Angel University, Philippines) after 2 years we became classmates, then sweethearts (hehe). After a year she went to America with her family. We broke up. Ouch!

She phoned me after 2 years and convinced me to migrate in America-what can I do??? I missed her...

I left my job in PI and went to Cali for her, now we're having our second baby on May, 09.

Best friends girl friend....kept one,not the other.Actually I run into him every few years, and at least we can talk these days, but not easily. He can't even remember her name.

This is a great thread - some good reads here. Here's my story:

I met my wife in high school. We travelled in different circles - me in the get drunk, party, and break stuff circle and her in the study all the time make good grades and look cute circle. She had a friend who I had my eye on for a while. Often when I was out and about with the friend she would be there as well. It didn't work out with her friend, but I found myself still enjoying this other cute girl's company in a friendly sort of way. We became close friends but never romantically involved at all. We graduated and the day before she left for college we went out for a coffee. That night, as I was walking her back to her house, she turned around and kissed me. I was surprised. We dated 5 years, most of which was long distance. Got married this past June. We do not have, do not expect and do not want children. Life is beautiful.
