I subscribed to and used Central Dispatch for years. The only reason I canceled my Central Dispatch account is they went from a $0 monthly fee, to a $34 monthly fee. Central Dispatch also charged me $30 for each vehicle I listed to be shipped. I have paid drivers cash in advance, never had a problem with a Central Dispatch carrier.

Video is much longer than it needs to be, and a bit painful to watch--- but awareness of this and like issues is good to know.

This video discuss growing concerns using Central Dispatch. I think anyone shipping a vehicle will benefit watching this video.

Central Dispatch is owned by Mannheim Auto Auctions, and Cox Automotive.

Central Dispatch connects auto transporters/ carriers (essentially Hot Shots), with shippers of vehicles. Vast majority of auto transporters/ carriers (essentially Hot Shots) are independent owner operators.

The message here comes down to--great fraud taking place on all sides of the auto shipping business. BITOG members might do best to deeply scrutinize and do intensive homework when hiring a broker, or working directly with a auto transporter/ carrier, when looking to ship a vehicle.

My experience has been very negative with brokers. Brokers do anything to get the business, will promise anything, offer a unbelievable low price. What happens is broker can't come through, but they have your money, and then tell you "can't find a transporter", and strong arm you for more money, etc.

Vinwiki has a great episode about something sinister. A guy sold his Porsche 911 gt3 to someone across the country. He used a couple of guys with a transport computer but they didn't exactly speak alot of English. Apparently about half way through the trip their trailer caught fire and melted several vehicles on the trailer. Oh they didn't have insured either.

Why would you pay more than 10% upfront to have them show up? I never pay contractors more than that and if they balk then not legit or you are paying for their other job not yours.

Really simple answer.

I am not at the delivery location to pay the driver. The drivers are independent contractors working on very slim margins and need to be paid at delivery, and if not at delivery at paid at pickup.

I'm right now paying $129 for Super Dispatch. Absolutely 100% hate doing it but I buy cars all over the USA and a very large number from out of state.

I stopped using Central when it started taking forever to get my inventory. Super Dispatch has issues too, but Central's conversion rate was just plain atrocious.

I have used a lot of local haulers for delivery. OOS is more miss than hit. People come and go on that side of the world.

I use mostly Zelle and a little bit of CashApp. Always pay on delivery.
