How can you remove a tire from a car at a junkyard without powertools?

Tire from the wheel or wheel and tire from the car?

I usually stick a breaker bar in the wheel so it gets jammed up against the caliper. If it's got drum brakes you can still usually hit some sort of solid suspension component.

Maybe a ratchet strap (or 2) around the circumference of the tire and tied off to something.

The junkyard removes the jacks from cars. At least the ones around here.

The spin and snap method worked for me until I got my Milwaukee impacts.

Bring a helper with another L shaped lug wrench. Maybe a can of PB Blaster to squirt on each lug nut too.
Have the helper put his wrench on a lug nut that is 180 degrees opposite of yours. Then both of you apply pressure at the same time but with him trying to tighten while you loosen. Than should be enough to keep the wheel from turning while the lug nuts break free.

What do you do with the last lugnut that's now really stuck on there?

An old 1/2" ratchet and dead blow hammer. Done it many times before cordless, always worked though.

Maybe one of those hand held impact drivers (that you hit with a hammer). That might get loose enough to finish with a 4-way.

I took it to mean what it said - "tire". Is it actually the wheel (tire & rim)?
A shock like the: 'hammer at lug wrench, or 'spin it 1 way, jerk counterwise suddenly'.
Or my method - 1/2 inch battery drill/driver. A breaker bar (or other) thru a wheel opening
into suspension, break caliber etc & both hands or other hand if needed held, on 18 inch breaker
bar on lug...

I've done it before using a long breaker bar and using the spin and snap back method. Spin the wheel forward using the breaker bar and instantly snap it backwards.

I gave this a shot, but it didn't work out. I was also getting a little leary about how much the car was shaking on the "junkyard jackstands."

In the end, I put a harbor freight 28-3/8" pry bar through the wheel, braced it such that it jammed against the sub frame while spinning, and the nuts came off easy.

After rereading responses to the thread, I see I could've just jammed it to the side of caliper as SwampSurvivor suggested.

Thank you all for the ideas. Power tools are obviously the easiest way, but that's not an option for me right now.

ours wont let any1 in w/'power tools' anyway.
Most in this state are no longer 'grab yourself'.
I perfer them to have available as I loose my time out there pullin.
The yard doin it just gets passed onto the customer. Not so good
for DYI, very small cost in the job for us.

I didn't get a chance to ask the guys that stole 21 tires off our delivery trucks one evening.

Our local Pick and Pull removes all the wheels from the vehicles and puts the good ones up for sale in sets. Any that have siezed nuts get a shot of orange spray paint on the nut to warn people not to waste their time.

quite a trick, a$$wholes.
A real opperation (equip, vehicles, laborers).
Not as big as the guys who steal a ranch worth of beef tho.
