I'm about 1800 miles into my rinse cycle & I plan on cutting my filter & posting the results after I change the oil again in about 1000 more. But back to my question....
I do see a slight improvement with my oil consumption issue & the truck is running nice but I'm wondering now that auto RX has done some cleaning maybe if I do a solvent flush @ this point it'll really finish the job nicely whirh more dramatic results. , theoretically there wont be too much sludge in there now & the oilpump shouldnt clog with sludge which is a big reason I steered away from solvent flushes in the past..
Just considering it, any opinions?

I would not unless the solvent is very lubricious. LC is the only one I am aware of that meets that standard.

The RX has a tremendous residual effect that the solvent may degrade.

This is totally antithetical to Frank Millers design philosophy for the Auto-RX product.

I know that some Amsoil users are doing what you mention.Considering the solvent effect is actually helpful to Amsoil in long drains to reduce oxidation and limit viscosity increases it may work with that oil but not really as a cleaning affectation but oil stabilizer.

I have a few customers asking about following up Auto-RX with Amsoil engine flush and I have recommended not to. For the reasons above.

I have recommended the Auto-RX pre clean then use a oil of choice with LC to moderate oxidation.

It depends on a few things.

For a relatively clean engine, there is no need.

If your engine is REALLY dirty and you know it, I have posted on my website instructions (New flush) for very thorough cleaning. This does use one can of Amsoil engine flush....but it is a complete package clean deal, which require following full instructions. There will be essentially zero solvent left in the engine when complete.

Yeah, maybe it's overkill. My truck just turned 70k miles I've had it since 35k & the original owner I dont believe stayed on top of the maintence + it was used commerically. Terry mentioned it { the auto RX} has a tremendous residual effect, this I didnt know. & Pablo thanks for the link for the Amsoil engine flush I didnt know that product existed, if I do change my mind that's the flush I'll use..
