That would be glycol you are feeling, same antifreeze ingredient used in Dex-Cool, low-silicate American green, Asian HOAT and European G-05, G-12, and G-30.
 
no, glycol is what makes the coolant feel sticky. what you are feeling is the organic base as a thick, viscus, lubricant, almost thicker than atf. it's the same stuff that separates and sludge's in the system when the coolant breaks down. yes, glycol is medially lubricating, but you can see a huge difference
