I found these two maps from the US National Weather Sevice. The legend from the old map goes to 100 F. The legend on the new map goes to 120 F. Don’t worry, things are just yellow! We’ll be going to 90 F next week. Happy June 1.

I love the inclusion of shoreline water temperatures.

90 is the new 70!
In its defense, the nicest weather for most folks is in the 70s. Depending upon humidity and whatnot, I’d probably argue 65-75, but regardless, it makes sense that the green ideal zone woukd be in the 70s range, imo.

Isn’t every year some sort of record? Can’t sell advertising without folks turning it on…
I agree 100%. The weather is constantly overhyped. Its getting harder and harder to tell what the real temp is though, the media keeps telling me "feels like" temps and they seem reluctant to give the real temp.

(I hope it was OK to post that. MODS PLEASE DELETE if this is a violation!)

I think we're just breaking records each year bc global warming is real.

Unless NOAA is a giant conspiracy theory organization.
Climate cycles are real. The rest isn’t the purview of this site.

How that relates to real numbers over statistically significant timeframes to me is undefined.

They shifted the color matrix by 20 degrees. I'm going to guess they do it all the time by seasons. Just real noticeable when it's one day to the next.
