I thought they were rebadged Fram Extra guards?

I just did an oil change on a 1992 Civic and I pulled the filter off and it had a silicon ADBV.

Ithink the US market and Canadian market filters are different. I remember seeing a study on that, when trying to decide what filters to use on my GF's 94 acura integra.

I prefer denso first time fit filters, or nippon ones.

One way to tell it's a Fram: look at the base plate.
Another way to tell is to look at the bypass. Plastic button=Fram, metal disk=Toyo Roki or Filtech.

btw: i notice you also post at genmay, i post there too.

Yea, I post in genmay. Mind you I am not as polite as I am here and everywhere else.

The tell-tale thing I saw what the orange ADBV and that more or less told me that it wasn't a rebadged fram extra guard seeing they use nitrile.
