Honda Oil Filter Every Other OC?

I'm running full synthetic in the below cars, and Honda recommends changing the oil filter @ every-other oil change. With the Pilot (no OLM) that works out to 15K. So far, the Civic got to almost 7K on the OLM, so at that rate, I'd change the filter every 14K or so.

Any objections if I use a good quality filter? My favorite is the Amsoil EaO filter ($12.) The other option is to ignore Honda's recommendation and put a $6 Honda filter (Honeywell) or a Napa Gold on with each oil change.

Thoughts?

I run an EAO for two OCIs on my overpriced Honda. I'll probably stick with this until it goes to the junkyard.

I would not with synthetic oil at full length intervals. However, this subject has been fully discussed MANY times and you need to search, read and post in an older thread. Not to be a jerk, but this subject is an every-other-day event, pun intended.

Sorry Audi Junkie, I guess I'm an idiot, but the search engine on Bitog leaves a lot to be desired. Searching is useless, hence the new thread (I'll start it again every-other-day!)

Nice i rock a 07 civic lx.
same engine though and i run M1 5-20
i change my filter every oil change. Wix

I questioned it at first but I've made peace with an every-other-OCI filter change on my 07 civic. I used the OEM honeywell filter for a couple of OCs but I think I'm gonna go with Wix (via Napa Gold) from now on.

Please learn to perform the search. It really can be done if you choose your words and timeframe correctly.

Thanks,

JMH
