On my K24 that is in a 2012 CR-V, once when I had an aftermarket PCV valve installed I replaced it for an OE Honda part. Upon removal of the aftermarket part, a small metal tube came out with it that was stuck inside the inner diameter of the end of the PCV valve. On the first start and run on the Honda part that replaced it, the engine idled and ran rough for about 30 seconds and went back to normal - and ran perfectly thereafter, which was 60K miles ago. Have had no issues other than the common VTC actuator rattle and some oil consumption, probably 1 - 1.5 quarts in 5000 miles.
Now, I know it's a bit late to be worried about this, but I just remembered it a couple of days ago. I called two separate Honda specialist shops and asked - both were under the same name/ownership. They both said they had never come across this happening and not to worry about it especially after 60K miles.
Has anyone here ever heard of this happening, had it happen to them, etc? I know that you can't just buy the little tube and it's not included with the PCV valve. It's supposedly press fit into the block. From what I could find online, the purpose of it is to funnel the crankcase vapors into the PCV valve.
