Honda Fluids?

Wow Blokey, I think you're the first person I've heard of that didn't have a complaint about RL power steering fluid ... and in a Honda no less!

So far so good! It started when I was doing a turkey baster drain & fill on it one day and I realized I was just a bit short on Honda Power Steering Fluid. I had some leftover RL PSF that I used in my wife's Olds Intrigue (switched that one over too) and topped it off. I had no problem so at every oil change (and a couple other times as well), I did a tbd&f with RL and by my calculations I'm pretty much completely switched over. It's nice and clear red even today whereas the Honda Power Steering Fluid would go from light amber to stout brown in a week!

I sure wish Amsoil made a special PSF for such purposes.

I have never heard of a fully synthetic PSF for Honda cars.


Never used it myself, but Bardahl has a Synthetic Euro/Asian Power Steering Fluid. I've used their conventional Honda Power Steering Fluid for years, works/feels great and I can find it locally.

Valvoline makes a Honda PS fluid. That said I would not substitute the ATF of Diff fluids. I have heard of way too many people having transmission issues with other fluids. I have shopped aroung and found Honda Z-1 for under $5qt. The same for the diff dual pump fluid for my CRV.
