Is there a way to convert Honda bearing numbers to standard bearing numbers. I need to replace the alternator bearing and don't feel like paying the Honda up charge for what is a standard bearing. I have to bearing house within 100mi so I'd prefer to have the parts on hand when I tear it down.
It is a Denso and I can't read the ND number on the alt.

Thanks for the help

If you can get the diameters there are tables.

A 6203 is something like 40mm OD by 17mm ID by 12mm deep.

I think you'll be mighty lucky if you can find someone who knows off the top of their head the size.

Does the factory service manual have any breakdown of the alternator? It's a long shot, but perhaps there's some useful info in there.

Once you open it up it should be easy to get a replacement if it's any of the normal industry sizes.

Start searching Honda-Tech for the chart, there is a thread with the info you need in it, I just can't find it atm...
