This was mentioned in another thread:

Mobil 1 vs fram ultra

I think about all this proves is how much my example of each filter weighs, but hey, I've got a scale and a bunch of filters, I'm done riding my Motorcycle for the day and a little board, so here goes.

  • 15400-PLM-A01 - wrapped in plastic with a sticker: 7.5 oz / 213 gram
  • Bosch Distance Plus D3323: 9.2 oz / 260 gram
  • Fram XG7317: 8.3 oz / 235 gram
  • Purolator PSL14610: 7.6 oz / 216 gram
  • Toyota TRD PTR43-33010 - This is a toyota filter almost exactly the same size as the Honda filters with a weld nut: 8.4 oz / 238 gram
  • Toyota 90915-YZZF2 - With plastic over end: 6.2 oz / 177 gram
  • Fram XG4967: 7.6 oz / 215 gram

What a coincidence! I also have a scale, and I also have a couple of filters, and I also have a few hours to spare!

So, my list...
  • 15400-PLM-A02 - wrapped in plastic with a sticker: 6.2 oz / 177 gram
  • Toyota 90915-YZZF2 - With plastic over end: 6.2 oz / 177 gram (same as yours)
Interesting how the Fram-made A02 is much lighter than the Filtech-made A01.

Me too! Here's what I have for Toyota / Honda Filters. Surprisingly the 51394 is 10mm shorter than the 57145 and it weighs 4 grams more...

Wix 51394 No Plastic : 209 Grams

Wix 57145 No Plastic : 205 Grams

Fram XG4386 : 231 Grams

Fram XG9972 : 72 Grams

Mobil-1 M1C-251 : 85 Grams

It establishes that if you put an A02 on your Honda rather than an A01, your Honda will be 1.3oz lighter. That saves gas.

Anyone got an M1-110 (Honda) or M1-103 (Toyota)?

I'm frankly shocked no one has calculated - on a per gram basis - how much additional stress is put on the oil filter adapter by a heavier filter.

I thought I covered what it accomplished in the initial post.

It tells us what each filter weighs...

So are all these filters being compared all the same physical size?

For mine, all of the Honda filters cross and the same size for all practical purposes, all of the Toyota filters cross. With exception of the TRD filter, the Toyota filters are quite a bit smaller.

For Teggers - an A02 and (my) A01 are basically the same size and the Toyota filter is smaller than the A02.

Some of Farmers I think are cartridges?

XG9972 and M1C 251 are cartridges. For some of the newer Toyota's.

Does that mean Fram is in the lead? The lightest and most flimsy?

He might need to use it to give the robber a good smack to the head.

The oil filter in the sock drawer keeps my wife guessing as to where my porn stash is.
