If the O.E. Honda filters are as bad as you think, there would be Honda engines wearing out left and right. It has been mentioned many times that Japanese automakers filters are better for flow instead of filtration. A P1 would probably be fine for you also, but I'm boycotting them right now due to discovering a tear in the media on a P1 and s classic 14610 after one another from my gf's 05 civic.
