Honda A01 vs Pure One 14610

If the O.E. Honda filters are as bad as you think, there would be Honda engines wearing out left and right. It has been mentioned many times that Japanese automakers filters are better for flow instead of filtration. A P1 would probably be fine for you also, but I'm boycotting them right now due to discovering a tear in the media on a P1 and s classic 14610 after one another from my gf's 05 civic.

The filter you're trying to replace lacks filtration and is a high flow filter, and it stopped your start up noise.

Or the ADBV is just working a lot better. If there is only start-up noise on a cold start after the car has sat awhile, then it's most likely ADBV issues.
 
Go with the flow,man. See BT Anchors used oil analysis. No difference in Walmart no matter which filter he used.
