I have a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado 3.5 5 cylinder, 80k on the clock. I want to go HM oil,I like the extra additives. I think it will be Valvoline Maxlife blend or the full synthetic version. Does the full syn have any advantages? I will be in 90 degree plus heat. Thanks

I think it may be possible to extend your oil change interval somewhat longer with the full syn vs the blend. I have trouble finding the full syn around here. Where have you seen it and for how much? I would personally feel comfortable going about 5k miles on the blend and 7500 miles on the full syn, possibly longer if oil analysis shows oil is capable. In that heat go with the 10W-30. No need for the 5W, at least in the summer.

Just go to WM and get a 5 qt. jug of synthetic. PP,M1,M1EP are $19,21,26.

The Full Synthetic Maxlife here is $3.59 per quart at Wally World.

Edit: Forgot to mention....that is for the 5 quart jug....$17.97.
