HM additive differences??

I am asking specifically about the differences in the HM add packs ONLY (NOT "which is a 'better' overall oil, or who has the most ZDDP/moly/etc.") between Mobil 1 High Mileages, and the Valvoline MaxLife (conventional and synthetic).

Is one add pack; stronger, more seal conditioner/sweller content, etc. than the other, or NO differences whatsoever between the two as far as the HM additives go??

Anyone know for sure/by testing results, or do we only have marketing hype/the pat 'proprietary info' response (or personal use experience) to go by?

That is like asking for the CocaCola recipe. Only a few people know the true answer.

What ever slows/stops your leak is the best one. Both Infineum and Lubrizol are excellent additive companies.

Most likely any formulation differences are "proprietary" information and companies won't be willing to provide details. From my experience, I switched from normal Mobil 1 5w30 to HM Mobil 1 5w30 after starting to struggle with a 3.5VQ consuming oil in between oil changes. The HM version has slowed down the oil consumption to a point that I do not need to add oil anymore so I got what I wanted out of it.

From reading about Mobil 1`s high mileage oils,theirs have more antiwear (in the form of zinc),more detergents,and slightly higher viscosity.
