Interesting how the car starts as a roll of galvanized steel. The welding machines can pound out welds in 90 minutes on a vehicle, which would take much longer for human. Pretty nifty.

wow, so that's what my father was watching. I just walked down stairs and thought he had the Discovery channel on....walked by as they were showing the spray painting process :)

BTW, anyone heard that KIA actually started as a Bike builder? :) Kinda "odd" considering you don't see them anyways....unless it's still one of their products that hasn't moved over the Atlantic yet..

Though my local dealer has a Suzuki on their showroom floor lol.

They have an ad on tv where a kid rides a (kia?) bike through their new factory in Georgia. They must be real proud of the place (and good PR!) to let a camera crew in.

I'd be, they have one of the best paint process in place. Kia has come a very very long way since the days of old.

I'd love to see it, but I see that stuff all day long....

My offer still stands if any BITOG folks come to Texas and want a personal tour of a top-notch GM plant.

I would love to see that. Inside the door panel of my Yukon is a sticker that says built in Texas by Texans! I always thought that was cool.
