higher bypass oil pressure for bikes: good or bad?

I was reading that since bike engines operate more aggressively than car engines, bike engines rely mostly on oil pressure from the engine which is why oem bike filters have a lower bypass pressure. I'm about to use my car oil filter for my bike. Since cars have more aggressive specs on bypass pressures, is having a little more pressure from a bypass valve bad for bike engines?

Thanks again!

How do you know that cars use higher bypass pressures? I use the same auto filter on my Accord and my FJR, so I'm wondering too if it's a good idea...

I just got the shop manual for my bike and looking through it I was surprised to see the oil pressures listed seemed kind of low. I'll have to check when I get home tonight, but I thought it said something like 4 psi at idle and 12 psi at some higher RPM. I'll double check and repost... but if so, that seems pretty low.

Correction; it was 4.4 psi per 1000 RPM Hot.

So that means at at 70 MPH which is 3800 RPM, I'm only running about 17 psi oil pressure. Doesn't that sound a bit low?

Sounds about normal, especially for bikes with roller bottom ends (vs. plain bearings).

That would make sense, but the FJR has plain bearings on the crank and rods. Rollers are only in the transmission.
