So does my 530i, and I don't worry about it either.

Lets see now, my ancient 67 Beetle , of course its long gone, ran 70mph from Pensacola fl to Chattanooga tn many a time for for 2 years, 2.5 qts of oil, 1500 cc, carbed engine, ancient technology, 4 speed, did fine, never used oil,oh,,used straight 30 wgt ancient Havoline in the day, radiator leaked some.lol. Your focus could do that , piece of cake. oh well that was over 40 years ago and on ancient technology, and ancient oil.

the ford focus is a good ride, u cant hurt it.

My Integra below would turn 4k RPM @ 70mph with the factory 5th gear in it. I drove 1100 miles one day to Dallas TX for 16h. Now I have a taller gear out of an Accord that tuned it down to 3k RPM but with this gear I cannot hit the top speed any more of the car..

The S2000 rev very high on highway too, about 4500 RPM at 80 MPH. Thinking about taller gear too, 3000 RPM at 70-75 MPH will be good for highway cruising, but acceleration may suffer.

Basically about 3k RPMs on a typical 4 cylinder engine is the
"sweet spot" as far as long range crusing at highway speeds of 75 mph or so.

If the car gets driven for about 30 minutes each time it is the best possible scenario for it. Makes for long OC intervals and a happy engine.

I would not change the oil in this case for at least 8k or 18 months which ever comes first.

That emergency run was probably the best thing you could have done for your motor. I wouldn't consider what you did was high speed, either. Just normal highway driving in fact.

Maybe its just my imagination but my vehicles seem to run better after very long trips.

that is the nice thing about a 6 speed MT...it drops the highway crusing RPM's down to about 2300, which leaves plenty of room to step on it and go.

My father and I have always noticed this too.

Today in modern vehicles the ECU will see a change to an aggressive throttle application and remap a bit for this and it will make it seem that the car is more "snappy". But it is also any carbon deposits being blown out/burned off as well.

Don't forget that extra fuel is being pushed through the pintle of the fuel injectors as well so some deposits that may have been building up with less pressure will possibly be washed away by pressure and detergents/solvents in gas.

My civic turns at 3200rpms at 75mph on the freeway, it is good for your car to get the oil up to the temps it will see on a trip like that.

I used to think so, but at least in the case of my 3rd gen Acura TL, 6MT have higher rpm @ top gear than it does in AT.

Of course i still prefer MT.
But these days with AT 6,7,8 speed... it seems like AT will save more gas than MT does.

Your car is fine. Trust me, if you thought that was hard, head down to a local autocross or drag strip.

3000 rpm is my normal range for at least 95% of my 233,000 miles. It sits for hours and hours.

My last OCI was a little over 8000 miles on QSGB.

I'm not worried at the least. Like others said this operation is the BEST for long life.

Keep the oil in there for a lot longer than 3 months or 3000 miles unless the majority is super short trips. And then I'd go longer.
