High Performance Lubricants Engine Cleaner

-10C? Dude, that's not even into the winter rating for a 20w-50 ;)

It was -20C here the other day (-4F) and that's not even cold, lol.

Winterpeg is going down to -35C tonight, lol (-31F):

I surely stand corrected.

I'll get the suntan lotion out lol.

I can tell you that my oil is behaving very well and my dashboard instrumentation presently indicates 11 degrees Fahrenheit

👍
Their engine cleaner, while giving us no issue.. it also appears to not have a W or Winter designation, and I wonder why that is!

Since esters have a very low viscosity index (70-90) and don't blend with VII, it would be difficult to make a multi-grade out of this that wouldn't compromise performance elsewhere.

If used in the proper dosing, it shouldn't have enough effect to change a multi-grade. 1 quart SAE 30 to 5 quarts of 5W-30 will likely still be a 5W-30. It may have a CCS closer to 6,500 cP instead of 5,500 cP, for example, but still in grade.

Are we really talking about cold start issues adding 1qt of a 30 wt to what most folks will have as 4 qts of 5Wx?

That's how it was explained to me. I think it would be safe to use as directed in most of the US during the winter months. If there's any doubt about that, run it during the spring summer.

Just now catching up to this thread.....Schwinney’s post of 12-31 where he gasses up the chauffeurs car after eating a sack of white castles could be interpreted a couple of ways 😎😎..
Better a White Castle than Krystal burger.

The latter taste like they were made from Group 2 basestock with some Dex3 trans fluid on top.

Anyways. High Performance Lubricants, maybe you can jump in here... Why no W rating on your product, which I am evaluating in the real world?

I covered it in post #105.
Ahhh, yes. Yes you did.

I do apologize that I missed that I'll go back and re-read I've been up all night and driving all morning thank you for pointing that out, I can probably go back and close the post so that we all see the answer.
