Hi All,

Well, I want to get the best bargain I can for oil and it appears the WalMart jugs are the best option so I want some feedback. Here are the choices for 5k OCI, 5w30 conventional oils for my two Volvos:

Quaker State
Pennzoil
SuperTech
Mobil Clean
Motocraft
Valvoline

I can pretty much assume there is not much difference but if there is something that sticks out to you all please let me know. Thank you.

Valvoline!

I use Valvoline dino for 5k OCIs and it is SPOTLESS!

Though the motor craft is also a great bargain and a semi-synthetic that has proven itself via UOAS.

In short it is whatever floats you boat, all the oils will be great for 5k OCI's. Minus the supertech, I still dont trust it for more than three.

I see you live in chandler, got a ton of relatives out in Peoria. Some HOT summers you get there.

Hi coffee,

Given those choices, I would choose either Valvoline 5w30, Mobil Clean 5000 or Pennzoil 5w30. Can't go wrong with any of those. I haven't been to Wal-Mart in months, how much do their 5-quart jugs run these days?

I think its formulated a bit on the heavy side of the visc range....great for the South.

If you are looking at cost, I would go with the ST. I just don't trust store brands of oil. Who knows where it will come from next time.
