Her dart needs a trans fluid change

I pulled the trigger on the redline mt-85 think that'll be good?
And really is it a lifetime fluid over there?

Yes it is lifetime fluid. I have the same box in my Giulietta. But it's Tutela Transmission Gearforce in there, which might or might not be the same fluid as Chrysler is selling.

If you search for "Tutela transmission gearforce stec" you'll find the technical datasheet

MT-85 is about 50% thicker at -40° than the Tutela but that might not matter much where you are. In fact it's about 50% thicker at all temperatures

MT-85 will work, but if you don't track the car MTL would be better suited, imo.

Chrysler transmissions have always required frequent service, and the minivans require frequent transmission replacement

Co-worker has a 2005 van with 280K on it, orginal trans never surviced, blows your theory out of the water LOL

So will the mt-85 allow the car to shift ok?

Unless very cold, I'm confident it does. But I couldn't try yet. ven then, the "problem" will be the rpms will go a bit higher before shifting. The way the DDCT works, it'salways shifting the part of the box currently not in use, so synchros tend to have plenty of time to syunchronise.

Here is what I've learned. For the record redline is an excellent company to deal with!!
This who makes the mopar fluid
pt# 68092630AA is the Castrol BOT 350 M3, 75W GL-4 MT fluid (32cSt@40°C, 6.4cSt@100°C, VI = 154)
This is the factory oil in the Alfa Romeo giulietta c635 same trans as the dart
Tutela Gear Force is listed as a 75W GL-4, a viscosity of 7.1@100°C and 34.55cSt@40°C
This is what a lot of guys in the Alfa world run in their cars once again same transmission notice the viscosity is a lot higher but reports are is still shifts very well.
The Castrol Syntrans is a 75W90 GL-4, a viscosity of 15.09@100°C and 76@40°C
This is what I purchased to put in my dart and I've done enough homework to feel confident that it will work very well.
REDLINE MT-85 is a 75W85 GL-4, a viscosity of 12cSt@100°C and 64.3@40°C

Yes, I have the castrol syntrans ready to go in. I track the car however, and will start trailering soon (2800 lbs tow capacity, 3200 lbs empty weight)

^ This is probably the best recommendation you'll get. Use a fluid that meets spec (does not have to be OEM fluid) and do service at the correct intervals, you can't go wrong.
