Help Please

I have a 1975 john deere riding mower model 111. every time i start the engine and attempt to engage the pto the engine stalls. i replaced the stator and that was not the issue. Pulleys are free and when i engage the pto i can hear a clicking noise that sounds like the switch is fine. someone i know recommended to remove the safety switch under the seat and didnot fix it either.

Does it have an electric PTO Clutch? It may be seized.

im a very novice mechanic, how would i know if it is elec or not?

would you have any advice on how to find out if it is seized or not?

Do you throw a lever or a toggle switch? Look underneath at the pulleys,you would see wires if it was electric.
