Help me decide Synthetic HM Penn vs Valvoline?

I recently changed the oil (PUP 5w30) so it will be a while before the next oil change. But, I will post a follow up. Probably take a couple years to run two oil changes. I definitely appreciate the advice/recommendations.

She only gets approx 10 mpg in City. But, that's because of the MTR tires.

Always proffered Pennzoil products over Valvoline (though Valv. makes some great ATF and gear oils). That being said I would lean Pennzoil HM as I have used it before was very happy with it.

I'll go with the Maxlife red bottle 10W-40 folks.
I've had good results with this oil in old engines.
The full syn will do nothing for you that you'd need on short drains.
M1 HM is another oil to consider, though.
It has done well for me in a couple of old engines.
I've yet to try PP HM, so I can't comment on it either way.

Don't mean to thread jack but I hear a lot of people prefer the Valvoline Maxlife in synthetic blend more than the newer full synthetic Valvoline Maxlife. Any real differences between the two besides the obvious and price?
