Help me choose!

So someone give me some cliff notes for the air-filter situation.

What is good what is not. I drive a 03 Nissan Sentra SER Spec-V, im pretty sure nissan recommends oiled filters for there MAF Sensors, I could be wrong, but I think I remember reading this somewhere.

Now I currently have a CAI (Cold Air Intake) made by Injen with a Injen filter installed, about 2 months ago I used a K&N recharge kit and cleaned it and re-oiled it. Let it dry overnight and then reinstalled it.

Im thinking I should completley replace the unit with something else.

It needs to be a cone shape obviously. Suggestions\Recommendations?

Well its not that I want to change it like TOMARROW, I just want to know what to look at for my application when I feel the time comes.

You need to go to a paper cone filter. There is one made for the Honda Pralude and S2000. It looks like a K&N but protects much better. Flow should be close to the K&N. My prefered manufacture for flow is WIX or NAPA GOLD. Try it and you will not be sorry. I used to have the part number but don't anymore.

Being that the base of the filter is hard plastic, you will need to find some sort of rubber/silicone coupler to attach it to the CAI.

you'll be fine if you leave the filter alone to do its cleaning. cleaning and re-oiling too often will get you more chances to have contaminants get in or too much oil. i have a k&n style filter and cleaned/re-oiled at 30k and haven't touched it for another 30k miles. my used oil analysis in the period a little after the cleaning had Si level of 6 for 4500 miles. do not believe the sky-is-falling k&n=high Si. as some people have said, filter fit is more important than brand.
leave that filter alone and it will dirty up and filter finer and finer particles. you won't loose any substantial flow for a long time.
