Help me choose a fitler for oil/MMO application.

hey all! had a fun idea to add the board. I wanna try a quart of MMO in place of oil, and run it for 3 months(my usualy oil change, too much stop n go traffic the reason), and intend on running it about 980 miles in 3 months.
Here are the fitlers in my stach..its for a 95 plymouth neon SOHC.
1) ac delco ph 53, 2) fram extend guard 3614, wix 51068, napa pro select, napa gold 1348, napa nascar filter, bosch 3402,k&N 1002, super tech 3614, a mopar 5281090, and a fram tough guard 3614, oh! and a few amsoil filters.
What do you think would be the best filter for this application with MMO, in terms of good flow and captruing as much crud as possible? its not sludged...but could use a good engine cleaning.
 
I vote Napa Gold 1348, but I know what you mean when you get this oil filter collection and have to use one, its like eating one of your children. I am twice as bad, I think for days before a oil change on what oil to use.

Haha i thought i was the only one thinking like that!

especially when i pull out a UPF or Stratapore.
 
I'd probably go for a purolator classic since I get them for 2.50 and they have so much media area.

Amazingly, with perhaps the most impressive stash of filters I've seen, you don't have one.

I'm really not sure. In my apps, the Champ and the Wix don't have much area, if you think there will be a lot of "cleanings" and what not. I guess the Fram.
 
i would use 1/2 a quart... A quart will make the oil a little too thin and unless you are driving at super low rpm there could be problems

or bump up to a higher viscosity and let the MMO thin it out
 
i see, i wondered about that, MMo thinning out the oil! cool.
LOL panzerman lol haha yeah its just like eating one of your children, when having to dig into your stash,, aint it the truth lol.
well i had figured...the fram extend guard, as its kinda like the pure 1 fitler, rated at 10 microns or less and has excellent oil flow, for both the first use and flush use.
 
ah and..im intending on using 10w 30 dino, getty oil i bought few years ago from gas station..it was SL,which means more zinc*
how about a good recomendation for oil to use? dino? synthetic?
 
dgee has a good point about viscosity.

I would just throw a decent dino, blend, or grp III like PP in there, screw on a cheapie-but-goodie filter and go. You should be fine.
 
I just run the motorcraft 400s no matter what brew is going thru my engines. I don't see how one can use a "worse" filter when they expect to be freeing up MORE junk. However if you are sticking to whats in house, I'd use the supertech first because the interval will be lower, save the nicer filters for nicer oils. I don't think 980 is a lot of miles for cleaning...if your car is the auto you are doing a lot of rpms on the highway. Maybe stay in 4th more during this cleaning phase if you have the manual when you get a chance to see some open road.

You don't need a fine filter to saturate prematurely with all the junk you're putting in the sump. The last thing you want is to have that fine filtration work against you.

The dumping of the sump will limit any negative aspects to the increase in the fine(r) particles that a lower grade filter will not trap.
 
Any cheap filter will do. 980 miles isn't much driving, especially with a pint of MMO. You can bump up a grade, use a qt and try to drive some more miles to allow the MMO to do the job.
