no pinging but sometimes not all the times i get some engine hesatation if i keep my truck running but in park and the engine is already warm. the dealer told me that is "normal" but anything if i start to see more oil consumption than it will not be "normal". I guess i just need to use make up oil between oci or just let it comsume oil and change my oil at 6k no matter what. I must have gotten a poor engine mechaincs in my truck at least i have lifetime warranrty

I used to have a little knock in the morning, took a liitle more than a minute to clear up. Colder it was, longer it took to clear up. Sounded like piston slap in my old GMC so I wasn't concerned too much. I assume a continuous knock would retard the timing via the knock sensors.
You could try a compression test to see if it is a ring issue. The consumption and black oil early makes me think blow by?

Haha!! You really think you have a 'lifetime warranty'??!! Wait until you try to make a claim on that wonderful lifetime warranty, and your oil changes werent performed at the dealer every 3,000 miles documented with receipts and service records.

Chrysler will try to find anything - lack of oil changes, wrong grade used, engine abuse, a lunar eclipse in the past 13 years, Simon Cowell leaving american idol - ANYTHING to deny your warranty claim.

Your 'lifetime warranty' is as good as the paper its printed on....Sorry.

I will check into that I have notice lower MPG this winter more than usally i am getting around 12 mpg for gas and 10 mpg wil E-85 but i also got a spary-in bedliner new tires revo 2 and tossed out the soft top tonneau cover but last winter i got around 14 mpg for gass and 12 mpg for E-85 so i lost around 2MPG i thought it had to do with the tires, tonneau, bedliner but i might be wrong.

thanks

you probly right that is why i want to get this taken care of before the 36k miles warranty expires because i do not have faith in the "lifetime" warranty.
