Heaviest 5w-30 Synthetic?

This is my go-to heavy 5W30 synthetic

Quote

Castrol Edge 5W30 A3/B4 Full Synthetic
It's rated API SL (high ZDDP, but passes all SN tests), ACEA A3/B4, MB 229.5, BMW LL-01 and VW 502/505.
Noack volatility below 10%, Zinc around 1000 ppm, HTHS = 3.6 cP, KV100 = 11.9 cSt, SA = 1.2%, TBN = 10.2 and PP = -45C

Kind of a blind statement to readers.
What vehicle - what year - what engine?
There's room in your Signature to put it.

That looks like a super strong oil! SL oils must've had a better and stronger add pack. I remember my SJ RP had a killer add pack via uoa.

SL is irrelevant. Any API spec. is irrelevant in Euro oils.

No it isn't:

a.) 5W-30 L 12.63 cst

The lowest recent PDS shows it 12.38. BTW, I told the OP not to use it. No reason to use boutique German oil in a Hyundai either...

You do know oils can thicken during exploitation?
Also, if PP Euro L is above 12.5cst and like that being sent to vehicle manufacturer to be approved as 5W30 oil, sample would be returned and not approved.
As for Hyundai, Hyundai itself does not know what oil they recommend to consumers.

Who cares, what does that have to do with anything? I doubt it would be sent back as a C3 oil that is borderline as they know it probably sheers. In any case, if he needs a thicker 5W-30 just go with RTG. It's cheap with rebates...

I worked on testing of oils that went for approval. Company would get back letter saying: what is wrong with you?
