In NYC, we have the usual auto parts stores, but we also have The Parts Authority, where there are no isles to walk and shop yourself, just parts guys at the desk. They also do deliveries to local garages if they don't have the parts.

Anyway, I've noticed that any filter (oil, air, trans, etc..) I've ever gotten from them has been Hastings. How are they? I never really thought about it before, and never see them mentioned on here. Thanks~!

Hastings is the sister company to Baldwin.

They are great filter, their flaw if any, is that they usually don't have a silicone antidrain back valve.

Absolutely. they are one of the better filters available. they also cater to heavy trucks; at one point they manufactured filters for amsoil

Hastings is a big winner in my garage. We use their Oil, Air, Fuel, and Trans filters. They always fit right, don't leak, and we've yet to have a failure.

Hastings/Baldwin has been a favorite of big-rig drivers. Their filters are a little less common for the cars, but if you can get them, go for it.

I have used some and think they are a decent mid-line filter. Priced well locally compared to NGs or Fram TGs, was happy with their results. I'm not sure the silicone ADBV is a concern with average OCIs but probably for exteded. I would use interchangably with Wix or NG.

When I had a good source for them I used them on several vehicles. One of my (now retired) favorite mechanics used them in his shop, that was good enough for me!

As much as many love the "softer ADBV" usually of silicone, and thumb their nose at the Nitrele (on Hastings).

I've actually had the Orange Silicone ones fail on me... but not the Nitrele..

I like the Hastings filter line because it's not overly expensive, and the filter is well made.
