Here are the specs I was sent via email for my inquiry on the LF240 Hastings filter (Nissan 15208-9E000 equiv).
ADBV = rubber
nominal micron rating = 22
absolute micron rating = 37
Estimated flow rate = 5gpm@5psid (why estimated?)
Average efficiency = 72.6%
According to their website it has a 14 psi bypass valve.
When I asked if the efficiency rating was first pass I was told they do not do first pass efficiencies on automotive filters. They do a weighted efficiency. Tests are done using no set micron level but instead using a "fine dust" containing particles from 0-80 micron in size.
Comments? How does this rate with well regarded filters out there (Wix, Bosch, ST, Purolater, Amsoil)?
