I've been intrigued by the Hart tool line at Wal-Mart the last few times I've ventured in there. I've read some generally good things on here about Hart power tools, but didn't see much of anything about the hand tools (wrenches, ratchets, sockets, etc.). Do any of you guys have any Hart hand tools, and if so what is your opinion of them?

i have been using a set of HART combination wrenches for 4 years, still work great. saw industrial fleet service. bought a big box socket set to keep in the trunk of my accord.

I bought a pair of scissors, pliers, and screwdriver, and IMO they are about the same as Craftsman. Most Hart products are better than Hyper Tough, but I concur that the Hyper Tough pry bars are the cat's meow!

Hart used to make boutique framing tools, like hammer and nail pullers etc. Funny enough, back in the day, people looked at framing hammers like a warriors tomahawk on a jobsite. I know someone who has an old Hart hammer, his favorite.

Likely HArt at walmart is just fine for a backup or something like that, buyt the prices are no different than Craftsman at Lowes now.

Thanks all for the input. I doubt I'll ever buy any Hart tools unless I catch a clearance sale, but good to know they are decent tools if I ever find myself in a pinch.

Another part of the TTi stable, this time a WM exclusive and fully owned, like Milwaukee.

Wonder how much TTi pays Emerson (Ridgid) and Electrolux (AEG) for the use of their brands?

The sales of "blemished" Ridgid power tools through their Direct Tools Outlet backdoor channel have all but dried up.

Finally got a chance to briefly use my new Hart 1/2" ratchet last weekend. I used it to break the oil drain plug loose on my daughter's Ford Edge; I used my new gold Icon 3/8" ratchet to re-install the drain plug. I like the heft of the Hart and it has a good feel in the hand. I can't wait to find more stuff to use it on.

The few things I have from them aren’t bad. I’d probably pass on the battery impact though my coworker had one and it was not very powerful. I have one of their screwdrivers in my box at work and it’s never let me down.
